I want both Fathers in my wedding!

November 30, 2016

Dear PB Pro,

I have two wonderful fathers in my life, and I want both of them to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day. The problem is the aisle at our venue just isn’t wide enough for us all to go down together. How do I make it work with two dads and one narrow aisle?

Dear Fathers of the Bride,

Two loving fathers? What a great problem to have! Now let’s see how you can honor them both as you walk down your narrow aisle.

You could start with one father on your arm, the other walking behind you. Pause halfway down the aisle so your dads can switch places. Then, when you reach the end of the aisle, have one father on each arm to hand you off to your groom.

You could also walk down the aisle alone, with either your fathers walking behind you or waiting for you at the end of the aisle. For those last few steps to your groom, have one father on each arm.

There are lots of ways to make this work, but it’s hard to give a definitive answer without seeing the ceremony site itself, as well as the three of you. Your best bet will be doing some trial runs before the big day to see what looks and feels right to you.
