When Ronnie and Stephanie met through mutual colleagues and clients at their respective jobs, they soon realized their connection was meant to be. The two had their first date at the Chophouse in downtown Milwaukee’s Hilton City Center—where Ronnie would later propose! “We sat down for dinner, and little did I know Ronnie’s brother, who is a professional photographer, was hiding in the back and took pictures of the entire proposal.”
To celebrate their history with the Hilton City Center, Stephanie and Ronnie initially booked it as their venue—but they ended up having to change due to previous Covid restrictions. “The Hilton could only allow about 10 people for the reception at that time. Luckily, our wedding planner found the Delafield Hotel, and it was perfect!” Both the ceremony and reception took place at the hotel, and they even hosted their rehearsal dinner at the delicious I.D. in Delafield.
To help plan the wedding, Stephanie worked with Morgan at Blue Fancy. “She took care of everything. I can’t praise her enough. She had the best vendor recommendations, and if there was something I wanted, Morgan made it work. She answered all my emails quickly and professionally.” In the end, Stephanie’s number one tip to other brides: “Hire a wedding planner!”
One of Stephanie’s favorite things she planned for the wedding were gold fanfare chairs. “I’m telling you, those fanfare chairs really were such a statement!” The couple also turned to Well Dressed Tables/Arena Americas for charger plates, Paperwhites for stationery and signage, and left much of the rest of the party in the hands of the Delafield Hotel.
One of the most unique things about Stephanie and Ronnie’s ceremony was the music choices. Stephanie walked down the aisle with her dad to an instrumental version of “Hotel California” by the Eagles. “It’s such a beautiful song and I always dreamed of walking down the aisle to it. Ronnie said that once the music started, all our guests looked at each other like ‘is this right?!’”
Next, Ronnie’s sister read lyrics to the song “Lover” by Taylor Swift. They even had the “Lover” album as a poster-style guest book that people could sign. “It’s currently framed in our hallway.” The bride and groom had several guests tell them after the ceremony just how beautiful and entertaining it was.
Cocktails and dinner were both catered by the Delafield Hotel. “They had the wonderful option to do His and Her drinks at cocktail hour. It was a cute touch and people loved it!” After dinner, Stephanie and Ronnie were thrilled to hear multiple guests say it was the best wedding meal ever. They served options of chicken, salmon, beef tenderloin with scallops, a vegetarian option, and a kids meal.
In the end, despite Covid changing some plans, Stephanie says there’s nothing she would have changed about her wedding planning or the wedding itself. The moments that stick with her the most: walking down the aisle, saying their vows, and dancing the night away.
