Molly and Cory embrace with Milwaukee in background

Molly & Cory’s Industrial-Eclectic Wedding at Turner Hall

April 5, 2022

An epic wedding in the heart of downtown Milwaukee

Finding the Venue

Molly and Cory planned a May 2021 wedding in downtown Milwaukee at Turner Hall Ballroom. “We wanted a venue with lots of character that didn’t need much decoration. We also love the vibes of downtown Milwaukee, so it was the perfect place for us.”

Finding the Dress

After trying on about ten dresses, Molly found her Enzoani dress at Miss Ruby, a bridal boutique in downtown Milwaukee. Molly says she knew in her mind exactly what she wanted: no sparkles, no lace, just something simple and form fitting. “After taking my mother and some close friends to Miss Ruby’s, I tried on a dress I would never have picked out for myself. It was simple, but the sides were sheer with lace and sparkles.” Molly was hesitant, but after trying it on, she knew it was the one. “I’m obsessed with that dress to this day!”

Church Ceremony

Having met at Luther College in Decorah, Indiana, Cory and Molly decided to have their ceremony at Unity Lutheran Church. This is the church Molly grew up in. “It was incredibly special to have the pastors that baptized me also marry me.” To make the ceremony even more memorable, the bride and groom’s friends Ethan and Greta sang during the ceremony.

Turner Hall Reception

Molly and Cory went for an industrial-eclectic vibe for their wedding reception. Where better than Turner Hall Ballroom to host such an event? “It was the perfect setting and environment for us! We love Milwaukee’s history and the vibes at Turner Hall.”

The wedding day fell in May of 2021, a period of time when Covid numbers were lower and people were itching to gather and celebrate. But before the dancing, there was food by Irene’s Catering. “We did a buffet-style dinner, and we highly recommend it!” Later in the evening, there was a nacho bar—”the perfect late-night snack to keep guests dancing all night.” His and Her drinks were a Wisconsin Old Fashioned and Moscow Mule, respectively.

Epic Dance Floor

Looking back, Molly and Cory agree that the best part of the night was the dancing. “Our guests of 350+ were ready to dance! People had gone over a year of feeling isolated and not seeing one another. It was an incredible experience on the busiest dance floor. We will never forget it!”
