Kayla and Patrick went to the same high school, but it wasn’t until Kayla graduated that they reconnected and began dating. The pair fell for each other and enjoyed a picture-perfect engagement, courtesy of Northern Roots Photography. Kayla had won a photography session with them, and Patrick surprised her by turning it into an engagement shoot. “It was so cute!” Kayla says.
Kayla had tried on nearly 30 dresses and was starting to get discouraged when she found the perfect dress at Bliss Bridal. She credits her stylist, Sky, with finding the dress she loved.
Patrick and Kayla planned a June wedding at The Gage in Milwaukee. Kayla says, “It just felt right when we walked in. The coordinators who gave us a tour helped us every step of the way, which made all the difference.”
The couple planned their wedding and reception with Events by Emily. On the day of the wedding, they exchanged rings from Husar’s while their friend officiated. Kayla describes the ceremony as, “Short, sweet, and just perfect.”
“Our reception was such a dream”, Kayla says. “We had candles glowing all over the room, the head table was filled with greenery, and our arch by Archangel Services made a beautiful backdrop.” Kayla and Patrick’s favorite part of their wedding was seeing all of the people they loved in such a beautiful place with them.
Chef Jack’s Catering provided the food, which the couple raved about as “so delicious!” Appetizers included mini grilled cheeses with a shot of tomato soup, raspberry brie bites, shrimp scampi, bacon wrapped chestnuts, caprese skewers, and tenderloin crostini’s. For dinner, Chef Jack’s served pasta salads, tenderloin tips, Chicken En `Croute, and Parisian oven roasted potatoes.
Dessert for the reception was courtesy of Patrick’s grandmother and cousins-homemade Italian cookies. Kayla describes the gesture as “a memory we will have forever.”
From their backyard rehearsal dinner prepared by family to their outstanding experience at The Gage, Kayla and Patrick reflected on their romantic weekend. “I wouldn’t change a thing”, Kayla says. “The staff at The Gage were so great to work with… It was so comforting knowing we had such a beautiful space.”
