Hannah, who was born in Georgia, and Paul, who is originally from Indiana, met through a work rotational program. They were both assigned to work in North Carolina for two years and met during one of the first days. After spending two years in North Carolina, the two were assigned to Milwaukee following the program.
Hannah and Paul’s friends were in town visiting and helped Paul plan the perfect engagement. One evening after dinner, everyone went to Veterans Park at sunset for an “impromptu” photo shoot. In the middle of taking pictures, Paul got down on his knee and proposed to Hannah. Afterward, he surprised her yet again with an engagement party with all of their friends waiting for them.
Hannah and Paul tied the knot at The Florian Event Venue in Germantown. Paul comes from a Catholic family and Hannah is Jewish, so they wanted to incorporate both of their faiths in their wedding ceremony, including a unity candle and the traditional stomping of the glass. The ceremony also featured two unique spiritual readings that were read by their close relatives. Hannah shared that some of her favorite moments of the day were getting ready with her bridesmaids in the morning and walking down the aisle with her dad.
Hannah and Paul continued their celebration at The Florian for their wedding reception. The newlyweds enjoy ballroom dancing weekly, so, of course, they wanted to have an elaborate first dance as husband and wife. Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Whitefish Bay choreographed their first dance, which was extremely meaningful. Their wedding day also happened to be Hannah’s grandma’s birthday, so they decided to surprise her with her very own birthday cake and sang “Happy Birthday” at the reception!
Hannah and Paul and their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, plated dinner, and individual cakes on each and every table. The meals and drinks were all catered by The Florian, and the cakes were designed and baked by Simma’s Bakery in Wauwatosa. Conveniently, the cakes even doubled as the centerpieces and cut down on the time to serve the cake.
Hannah found her dream wedding dress at Evermore Bridal in Brookfield. She tried on around 25 dresses before slipping on the dress she fell in love with. The dress was unique because it was the only one of its kind in the store and couldn’t be ordered anymore. She knew it was the one when her dad came into the shop and agreed that he loved it!
“Don’t make any decisions too quickly! Enjoy the engagement without the stress of planning. Everything will come together in the end.”
