After meeting through Hinge, Mackenzie and Brandon sealed their future by getting engaged at the Tower of the America’s in San Antonio, TX. They enjoyed the evening at the Chart House restaurant, enjoying a beautiful, rotating 360 degree view of downtown San Antonio.
Planning their September wedding, they settled on The Dekoven Center in Racine. The location was a huge selling point for them. Being so close to the lake and having a rustic castle-like feel with so much greenery and photo opportunities was picture perfect. The couple described their day as exciting, memorable and joyful.
Going with the colors of different shades of blue from navy to dusty blue, they were able to pull their vision together. The bride’s mom was a huge part in making the dream a reality, even making all the bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding party. Mackenzie also shared, Nicole from The Dekoven Center was “a SAINT and the heart and soul of their wedding. Always holding a special place in their hearts.”
The bride’s gorgeous gown was chosen from Volle’s Bridal Boutique. After trying on six gowns, she instantly knew it was the one and burst into tears. The guys were suited from Men’s Wearhouse.
For the ceremony, when Mackenzie saw Brandon at the end of the aisle crying, it instantly melted her heart. Their pastor, from their home church, performed the ceremony adding a mix of tradition and some of their own written vows. Allysha Noelle Photography was on hand to capture every picture perfect moment.
The couple enjoyed their reception with great food and an open bar. The food was provided by Red Onion Cafe & Catering, and the cake was from Lucy Walsh. An extra special addition was added with the brides Grandparents making their cutting cake, as they had always made family birthday and party cakes for all other events.
The DJ, Big Sand Productions, made sure everyone danced the night away. “We got so many compliments from guests saying they hadn’t heard such a good mix of music played at a wedding before,” shared Mackenzie. In addition to the father-daughter dance, Mackenzie also surprised her mom with her very own dance. It was something to show how amazing she was and appreciate all the hard work and effort she put into their day. The newly married couple then danced to “Thank God” by Katelyn & Kane Brown for their first dance.
The biggest tip…”Don’t sweat the small stuff and ask for help! There are people who will help in any way!”
