Romantic and Timeless Lake Park Bistro Wedding

July 2, 2025

An Intimate, Chic Dinner Party Wedding at Lake Park Bistro.

How They Met

Anna & Bryce met in 2014 during their first week of freshman year at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Both coming from Green Bay and to a surprise having quite a few mutual connections. Immediately drawn towards one another, but life pulled them away initially. In 2019 they reconnected and have been inseparable ever since!

How They Got Engaged

A proposal that was very intimate and VERY unexpected. Anna fully thought she knew when the proposal would be coming, but instead was completely surprised. Greeted by Bryce on a Friday after work in the lobby of their apartment, Bryce was dressed to the nines. Asking why he was so dressed up, he replied “Taking you on a date.” Anna jokingly responded, “Are you proposing to me?”, giving Bryce a laugh. Once they got to the door, Bryce blindfolded Anna and led her to the bathroom where she found dresses all hung up waiting for her to choose from. Anna still in denial at this point it was the actual proposal and they were celebrating something else.

After Anna had finished getting ready she walked out of the bathroom greeted to a path of tea light candles leading to Bryce standing next to a wall of pictures sharing all the memories they had created together. He took her hand and then lead her to the living room where a bottle of champagne and roses were setup. Being a videographer, Bryce played her a video he had created showing memories of Anna growing up. Tears were flowing as Bryce got down on one knee and asked Anna the long awaited question.

The champagned was popped and after was dinner to celebrate at Bryant’s Cocktail Lounge. After the unforgettable night, Bryce shared with Anna that they would be leaving that weekend to New York to celebrate with her little sister, who would become her Maid of Honor!

The Planning Process

Wedding Date: August 30, 2024
Guest Count: 105
Wedding Colors: White, Ivory, Blush, Green and Black
Planner/Coordinator: evenement planning

Style and Theme of the Wedding:
Timeless and Chic Dinner Party that was Romantic and Intimate.

What was your favorite design element?
“The standout of the night was our florals. Our florist, Vicki, brought our vision to life and exceeded every expectation we had. When I first arrived at the venue, I gasped. I was so pleased with how everything came together, and the dreamy Lake Park Bistro was the perfect venue for it. It excludes class in a timeless, romantic setting. The vintage chandeliers and art were also a favorite for us.”

Weddings Looks

Dress: Tie the Knot (Off the Rack)
Bridesmaids Dresses: Each bridesmaid chose their own dress from any location with the guidelines of being “black and formal”.

How many dresses did you try on?
“Since Bryce and I planned our wedding in 3 months, I knew I was going to be limited in my options. I went in with a vision of what I wanted, and after a day full of fittings I still hadn’t found “the one”. Knowing I had to purchase a dress as soon as possible, I ended up buying a dress I wasn’t in love with. During a weekend home in Green Bay, I decided to just take a look around at one more place. After trying on a few more dresses, this was the last one. I tried it on and immediately had a feeling – this was the one! It felt timeless and was drop waist which I really wanted, I knew this was the closest I was going to get in my time frame. It was an older designer and style of dress that had been on the rack for a few years. I was surprised to find it in such perfect condition and fit me so well – I knew the dress has been waiting for me! I purchased it and didn’t second it guess it once.”

Ceremony Details

Location: Bartolotta’s Lake Park Bistro
Photographer: Lisa Young Photo
Flowers: La Tulipe

Ceremony Details and Favorite Moments:
“Our ceremony was definitely one to remember. We had a beautiful string quartet and the bridal party walked out to Canon in D – Pachelbel. During this time, my youngest nephew decided to lay down in the middle of the aisle. When my dad and I walked out to Lana Del Rey’s ‘Love’ we were greeted by Liam, my nephew, face down at the start of the aisle – this is very typical Liam fashion. It started the ceremony off with a laugh, my dad and I just maneuvered around him. He eventually perked up and watched the ceremony, still laying down in the aisle.”

Why Did You Choose Your Venue:
“We knew we wanted an intimate venue and our wedding to feel like an old school dinner party! Lake Park Bistro was the perfect backdrop, perfectly encapsulating the romantic , timeless, and intimate feel we were going for. Not to mention, Bryce and I are huge foodies and their food is delicious!”

Reception Details and Favorite Moments:
“I think our reception was unlike any other wedding I’ve been to! That’s what’s fun about planning your own wedding, you can create your ideal vision! My favorite was our dinner, the room we were in was just breathtaking, with the wall of windows overlooking Lake Michigan, the gorgeous vintage chandeliers, the tablescapes with the florals, candles and table lamps created the most romantic, cozy, beautiful dinner I’ve ever seen. It was better than I ever could have imagined. What made it unique, I think, was the venue itself. It didn’t feel like your typical wedding, it felt like an old school dinner party! It really is just the most beautiful place.”

Looking Back

Three Words that Described the Day:
“Timeless, Romantic and Authentic”

What Moment Sticks With You the Most?
“Two things that were both very meaningful and sentimental. First, my dad giving me a photo of him and my late grandmother along with a note from him. The second is a little funny, my dad has a wooden statue of Buddha from his late brother Mike. He rubs his belly for good luck or whenever he needs some encouragement. My parents brought Buddha and all of my bridesmaids got to rub the Buddha belly during the morning of! It was so sweet and gave us some laughs.”

What Vendors Impressed You?
Evenement Planning, specifically Manda Gill. She was so wonderful to work with and took care of so many of the details and was such a reliable person to count on before and on the day of the wedding.
Also, La Tulipe Florals, the owner Vicki was just incredible and so lovely to work with. She completely got my vision and brought it to life but even better!

What Was Your Biggest Wedding Splurge?
Our venue! This did include food & beverage. We loved the venue so much and the drinks and food were top-notch!”

Special Tips or Advice to Future Couples?
“Book reliable vendors! You may have to pay slightly more, but I promise it’s worth it. They will deliver and cause you less stress!”
