What is a Trunk Show?

What is a Trunk Show you ask?  Local bridal salons host trunk shows for specific designers and usually require an appointment.  The events are usually scheduled over a weekend but can often be a one-day event as well.  It’s an opportunity to view the latest bridal gowns that aren’t even available at bridal shops yet.  About 15-20 gowns are sent from a specific designer allowing you to see and try on the various styles.  Often, the designer will make an appearance at the event as well!  If you’re a quick decision maker, you can save a bundle when you order your dress the day of the trunk show.

Trunk shows are wonderful opportunities, especially if you love that particular designer’s work.  What’s the downside?  You must be willing to make a decision within a short period of time.  While it’s a no-brainer for some, others want the experience of bringing family and friends in to view and give opinions about the dresses over a period of time while enjoying a more relaxed process.
