Quentin and Tony met briefly in 2019 at the Shamrock Shuffle, exchanging information. But, it wasn’t until December of that year that things really kicked off when one of them swiped up! It was during their two year anniversary celebration in New York City that they became engaged. Tony had worked with two of their dear friends to plan the surprise proposal and perfect outing. Quentin, not having a clue what was coming, enjoyed every minute leading up to the special moment. Once they arrived in Central Park, Tony found a breathtaking view offering panoramic scenery, knowing that was the perfect spot to drop to one knee. Quentin, without a doubt said yes, and cheers celebrated all around them!
To begin their wedding journey they started with looking for the perfect venue. Knowing that they were going to have 250 guests attending they wanted a space that could accommodate all their needs under one roof. That’s where The Factory on Barclay came in, which not only “fit the bill” but exceeded all of their expectations. The space and the amenities were everything that was needed and more. Offering two large getting-ready rooms, well stocked bars, as well as a mezzanine were just a few of the things that really impressed Quentin and Tony.
As planning continued, Quentin and Tony wanted to focus on a wedding that would be fun, beautiful and lively. Everything was timeless as it was decorated in black, white and crystal accents. Quentin created one of a kind, show-stopping looks by working with Savvy Bride. Two custom suits, the first included a veil and detachable train and the second was an all white lace suit with a train. Tony was dressed to the nines from NL Suits.
The wedding ceremony stood out as one of the most meaningful parts of the day. They were honored to have their Uncle officiate, celebrating his 33rd wedding anniversary that very same day. The highlight for both though, was the heartfelt vows they wrote to each other. As they looked on to their guests they could see that not only were they feeling the raw emotion and genuine connection between them everyone else was too with no dry eyes in the room. In that moment they felt sheer happiness.
Moving into the reception there was fun and celebration from beginning to end. To kick things off they welcomed three local drag queens on stage sharing an electrifying performance which set the tone for the night’s festivities. As the evening continued Quentin and Tony welcomed their moms for their joint mother-son dance. Half way through the song, switching partners, symbolizing the blending of families and love they share with each of their parents. But, for both, it was their first dance together to “Can I Have This Dance” from High School Musical that made the evening complete! Twirling across the dance floor together, cold sparks surrounding them, creating the perfect never forget moment.
Guests enjoyed food and cake from Sendiks, which beyond exceeded expectations. Dinner was a double sided buffet featuring baked bone-in chicken, beef tips and noodles, caeser salad, double baked potatoes along with asparagus. Appetizers were also provided during cocktail hour consisting of chicken quesadillas, bourbon meatballs and bruschetta.
Looking back on the day the moments that stick with them the most were the drag show and their first dance. They also loved the iconic wall to wall crystal backdrop with 4 chandeliers hanging from it to really pull the whole look together.
“We wish we didn’t stress over any of the small stuff, our day exceeded our expectations and everyone loved our wedding. I would recommend walking away as a couple to just have a moment with you two. We took 20 minutes during dinner to unwind, talk and enjoy each other.”
