What’s trending in floral for this year and next you ask?
We recently spoke with Emily, owner of Belle Fiori, and got her professional insight. Read on to get ideas to enhance your big day with the dreamiest of flowers!
PB: What are you seeing for trends so far in 2020?
Emily: The return of color! Poofs of all white Hydrangea and Baby’s Breath are fading fast.
PB: Is there a certain color that is more popular this year?
Emily: Rich saturated color, either a mix of jewel tones or bold ombre`.
PB: Are there certain types of flowers that are more popular this year?
Emily: Unusual exotic blooms like tropical Protea, european Ranunculus, or Hawaiian Orchids.
PB: Do you have predictions for 2021?
Emily: Now with the delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, I think 2021 will be a continuation of 2020. The postponed weddings are not changing their decor plans so we will get to work with these new trends a little longer than usual.
PB: What trends are going away?
Emily: DIY rustic; mason jars, babies breath, tree slices.
PB: Are there any trends you would like to see come back?
Emily: I’ve been begging for color for about 5 years, so I’m very excited for this year. When blush arrived for bridesmaids dresses we hit a bit of a stand still, blush and white and gold palettes. Now the 2020 brides are the ladies who were wearing those blush dresses for their friends’ weddings, and blush is not a great color on everyone- can you say washed out. Luckily they are picking a more complimentary colors. Emerald green looks good on almost all skin tones, and flowers grow on top of green so they can pick any flower!
