Milwaukee Wedding at Grant Park

How They Met

Morghan and Alexander, both Milwaukee natives, met at The Nomad World Pub on Brady Street.

The Engagement

One Sunday, Morghan and Alexander, both big time nature lovers, were paying a visit to the Mitchell Park Domes. When Morghan was taking photos of flowers, she turned around to see Alexander down on one knee with the ring.

The Ceremony and Reception

Morghan and Alexander’s wedding was at Grant Park, a very special place for them. Living only about five minutes away, they spend almost every day there with their dogs. Both of them cried as Morghan walked down the aisle to join her soon-to-be husband. Morghan’s oldest sister served as their officiant, and her speech left everyone in tears. The celebration was an elegant picnic filled with white florals, an open bar, and a cigar bar for everyone to enjoy. The newlyweds loved being able to spend time with their friends who traveled from all over the world — some as far as Australia and New Zealand!

The Food and Drinks

The main cuisine was barbecue from Double B’s BBQ Restaurant & Timber’s Catering out of West Allis. Guests also munched on a stunning charcuterie spread from Charcuter-Me in Milwaukee and cupcakes from Classy Girl Cupcakes. The signature drinks served by Bartenders On the Go were a classic Wisconsin old fashioned and a dirty martini. Beer was also provided by Venture Brewing. Morghan and Alexander also had a lemon raspberry wedding cake made especially for them. One layer even contained gluten-free ingredients for Morghan.

The Dress

Morghan’s wedding gown was designed by Maggie Sottero. She tried on about 20 other dresses before she absolutely knew it was the one!

Words of Wisdom from the Bride

“Do what you want to do and know when to put your foot down. Do what you can and assign people tasks,” Morghan shares.
