Picture this: a love story that blossomed effortlessly, leading to a dreamy downtown Milwaukee wedding at The Pfister. After a few missed messages on Hinge, their first date of Sushi, and knowing right away they were the one, Nicholas and Caitlin’s love story was perfect. Every detail was meticulously planned to create a celebration as elegant and romantic as their journey together. With it being one of the first times family and friends had all been together since the pandemic, they knew they wanted to go all out.
The wedding planning process was a whirlwind of excitement and decisions for the couple. From finding the perfect venue at The Pfister Hotel, to choosing the color scheme, every detail was carefully thought out. The bride’s love for blush, pink, and gold inspired an elegant and romantic theme that set the tone for their special day.
Shopping for wedding gowns, two were chosen. The ceremony dress was special as it reminded Caitlin of her grandmother’s dress and the reception dress provided the sparkle!
Nicholas and Caitlin’s wedding took place on what would have been Caitlin’s Grandma Margaret’s birthday. Caitlin, being the only grandchild and very close to her grandma, wanted to make sure she was commemorated on the day. A reading of Velveteen Rabbit was also included as that was one of their favorite stories to read together.
Caitlin’s mom passed away a few months after their day, after a long battle with cancer. Knowing that she was there with them and got to celebrate the joyous engagement with all their friends and family together created a moment Caitlin will cherish forever. Nicholas loved seeing Caitlin’s face light up as her vision and attention to detail all came to life!
For the unity ceremony, the couple went a different route by writing letters to each other of all the reasons they fell in love and why they chose to get married. Those letters were locked away in a box along with a bottle of wine and two glasses to be opened on their future anniversaries.
From Jonathan’s Portraits Photography capturing every precious moment of the day, there were endless memories to be had.
Tables were adorned with big, dramatic arrangements, bud vases filled with delicate blooms, and the warmth of the flickering candles. The head table was decorated with eucalyptus garlands and Italian ruscus, as well as candelabras and additional floral arrangements. Windy City Linen provided luxurious linens that elevated the decor even further. The big showstopper was a custom floral wall created by the bride and her family filled with over 600 flowers taking over 10 days to complete.
Food and drink, provided by The Pfister, was a menu to be remembered. Endless appetizers, delicious soup, salad and intermezzo, all followed by entrees of beef tenderloin, buttered chicken and cauliflower risotto. Guests then had a sweet following of macarons, cupcakes from The Cake Lady and a chocolate fountain provided by Ambrosia Events.
For entertainment, guests danced the night away on the LED dance floor and had portraits done by Illustrator, Fine Arts by Nicole.
The couple even took dance lessons at Fred Astaire, Pewaukee, to ensure their first dance was nothing short of magical.
“We truly had an all star vendor team. Everyone was so responsive and helpful in making our vision for our special day come to life. Our photo and video team made us feel so comfortable throughout the day and our coordinators did an amazing job executing our vision.”
“Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks your day should look like. Plan a day that you will love and that your partner will love and then enjoy the day with your new spouse by your side. If you do that, you won’t have any regrets.”
