Ali and Joey matched on Bumble the day Joey moved to Milwaukee. Later that week the two went on their first date in Milwaukee’s Deer District.
Joey proposed to Ali at the rooftop bar the Outsider in Milwaukee. After the proposal they headed to the restaurant side where Ali was surprised by friends and family to help celebrate.

What was your favorite design?
“Our favorite design element was the overall floral experience. Our hanging altar piece was beautiful, and our ceremony aisle florals then transformed the inside space for the reception.”

How many dresses did you try on?
“I tried on somewhere around 30 different dresses. I knew that the first dress was the one for my ceremony because it felt like a unique hand beaded dress that was not similar to any of the other dresses I had tried on. I knew that the second dress was the reception dress for me because of the reaction of my family. The dress made me feel beautiful.”

“Our ceremony took place outside where guests were greeted with a glass of champagne and a live string quartet. We were married by Ali’s uncle who performed a beautiful ceremony that continues to receive high praise from all guests. Our favorite part of our ceremony was reciting our personal vows to each other and being able to look out and celebrate with all of our favorite people.”

“We chose our venue because we wanted everyone to remember the 21st night of September. This venue happened to have this date open up the day that we toured, and was able to host our guest list for both the ceremony and reception. We loved the industrial modern venue space and the river backdrop.”

“During cocktail hour we had a jazz trio playing outside for guests to enjoy. During this time we did our best to greet all of our guests and share our gratitude to them for coming to celebrate with us. This gave us time to enjoy the dance floor later on in the night, where Max provided the perfect playlist for a glow stick limbo party. Our favorite part of our reception was listening to the speeches from our family and looking out at everyone we loved during our dinner.”

“Our favorite vendor was Feisty Flowers. Jaclyn was so professional, helpful, and completed the entire aesthetic. Her team was extremely kind and talented. She was able to come up with the most beautiful arrangements and we are extremely grateful for her hard work and services.”

What moment sticks with you the most?
“A moment that sticks with us the most is from our ceremony. Ali’s uncle told a story that demonstrated the love and commitment Joey and Ali shared and worked towards in their relationship. The ceremony was personal and intimate, as well as thoughtful and humorous. We loved being able to share our love story with all of our family and friends.”
What tips or advice would you share with future couples?
“Everything happens for a reason and it is what it is. Enjoy the time together as an engaged couple and as long as you have the love and support of those you care about surrounding you, the rest is just a big party that you are the guests of honor!”
