Downtown Milwaukee Wedding in the Deer District

The Beginning

Sam and Allen, who both hail from Lake Country, first crossed paths in the bustling halls of middle school. Little did they know that the unexpected turn of events during the pandemic would transform their friendship into a beautiful love story. It was during a serene hike at Lapham Peak, a place they often visited to escape the chaos, that Allen chose the tower’s pinnacle as the perfect spot to propose, a moment that will forever be etched in their hearts.

The Planning

Sam and Allen attended the Wonderful World of Weddings bridal show, which helped them plan their big day.

The Look

Sam found her dream wedding dress at Ultimate Bride, a Chicago boutique that perfectly matched her vision. She chose a stunning gown designed by Berta, a designer known for her intricate lacework and timeless designs. She tried on about 25 gowns before finding “the one.” The bridesmaid dresses were from Bella Bridesmaids, whose team was instrumental in creating the color palette that influenced the wedding’s design. Allen’s and his groomsmen’s tuxedos were from DuBois Formalwear.

The Celebration

Sam and Allen’s union was celebrated at the enchanting Gather at Deer District, a venue with industrial charm, expansive windows, and an inviting patio. Allen’s brother officiated the ceremony, infusing it with their shared history and love. The ceremony was graced by the melodious strains of a violinist from Extreme Strings, whose music wove seamlessly with the exquisite floral arrangements from Belle Fiori. A Personal Touch supplied the lights and chairs, adding to the day’s gorgeous ambiance.

The reception was also held at Gather at Deer District, where the patio area with a fire pit became a favorite spot for guests to indulge in s’mores and conversation. A standout part of the celebration was the cocktail hour at Mecca. The slight venue change allowed guests to explore and enjoy the patios and the vibrant Deer District, making it a highlight of the evening. Sound by Design provided the music, and 360BOOTHMKE set up a fun photo booth for guests.

The Food and Drinks

Levy’s, a renowned catering and bartending service, provided a delectable array of food and drinks. In a nod to family tradition, Sam and Allen opted for a cheesecake from Simma’s Bakery, the same dessert that Sam’s parents served at their wedding decades earlier. Guests munched on popcorn and pizza, two tasty late-night snacks that provided even more fuel for dancing.

The Honeymoon

After the joyous celebration, Sam and Allen embarked on a journey to Italy, a country steeped in romance and history, for their honeymoon.
