Why Did You Choose Your Venue:
“I first sent my mom a Facebook message of a random venue ad on January 1st, 2020 – 3 years before Cole and I had even gotten engaged – saying ‘Umm I want to get married here! – What do you think of my future wedding venue?!’ Once we were engaged, we toured 7 venues all over Wisconsin in 3 days. The third day was the only time Cole couldn’t join because of work, which was when we were seeing The Bowery Barn. The versatility of the venue truly stole the show. The outdoor ceremony space and backyard patio were perfect for a couple that loves to spend their time outside. The charming farmhouse, downstairs cocktail lounge, and the breathtaking barn spoke for themselves. Cole put his trust in me and told me if I truly felt it was the venue we were meant to get married at, then he believed in my judgment. Luckily, he was able to visit shortly after at The Bowery’s monthly open house tours and loved it just as much as I did.”
Reception Details and Favorite Moments:
“Our wedding was the 21st wedding we attended together and if one thing remained the same, it’s that we LOVE a good dance floor. We wanted our reception to be a big dance party with our loved ones. We chose a schedule to get the night flowing with our first dance/cake cutting, listened to speeches while finishing up dinner, and passed on other traditions like the garter/bouquet toss and anniversary/line dances. Most of our guests would probably agree that “The Helmet” was the most unique part of our reception. Aptly named, this refers to a fire helmet born from a Kenosha Fire Department tradition that is brought out during events that signify change, such as fire academy graduation, weddings, etc. Wedding guests who were firefighters were invited to join the group of Kenosha firefighters on the dance floor while Cole’s captain gave a speech about the fire service, his personal connection with Cole, and welcomed Ally as an official member of the KFD family. He even acknowledged Ally’s dad as a retired firefighter and invited him to join in on the ceremony. The Helmet had a metal plaque bolted to the outside engraved with “Kuebler Fire, October 11th 2024.” The inside is lined with a 64oz plastic bowl that gets refilled with a cocktail throughout the evening, and Ally was invited to take the first drink followed by Cole and the rest of the Kenosha firefighters present. The only rule was that if you were handed the helmet, you couldn’t set it down and it had to be passed along to someone else. Needless to say, this was quite an unusual sight for most guests and made for many laughs and memories from the evening, while also honoring a significant part of Ally and Cole’s life.”
