Olivia & Trevek’s Elegant White & Gold Wedding at the Pfister’s Grand Ballroom

Olivia and Trevek met while working at the same company in 2010. After six years of dating, Trevek found the perfect opportunity to propose to Olivia in the presence of their dear families — a summertime pool party that Olivia was hosting at the couple’s apartment complex. In packing up pool supplies for the day, Trevek buried a small box with the ring in the bottom of his backpack. When the perfect moment presented itself, he professed his tremendous love for Olivia, dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry him. “I immediately said yes and spent the rest of the day showing off my new jewelry!”

The two planned an elegant wedding with a white and gold color scheme. The ceremony was held at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, and a reception followed at the Pfister Grand Ballroom. To kick off the classy weekend, Olivia and Trevek hosted a rehearsal dinner at the gorgeous Kimpton Journeyman Hotel in Milwaukee’s Third Ward. With excellent service and the Journeyman’s signature rooftop patio at the Outsider, the happy couple couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful wedding eve.

On the day of the wedding, the photography and videography team at Ideal Impressions created a quick turnaround photofusion of the day. “They really impressed us,” Olivia says. “Ideal Impressions created a 3–4 minute video that was put together in just a couple hours. It captured us getting ready in the morning, the ceremony, and the time leading up to the reception. It was then shown at the reception.”

The reception was decked out with towering hydrangea and rose floral arrangements from Belle Fiori, gold Chiavari chairs from All Star Rentals, and eye-catching uplighting and draped fabric to top off the romantic scene. Olivia and her Maid of Honor, Alyssa, made tags for the guests’ favors — mini bottles of bubbly — that said, “Thank you for sharing our special day!”

A scrumptious four-course dinner was catered by the Pfister, including chilled Maryland crab cakes, a plate of greens with chevre and toasted pecans, passion fruit and cava sorbet, and an entrée choice of filet mignon, grilled halibut, or roasted vegetable risotto. The wedding cake came from the nationally-awarded, family-owned and operated Simma’s Bakery.

Olivia and Trevek say their favorite part of planning their wedding was being able to spend extra time with their own parents, who helped them throughout the planning process. As for their favorite moment of the wedding day itself: “Our first dance — getting lost in the moment, just us two.”
