Historic Cream City brick, soft pistachio green, and an abundance of white florals set the scene for Megan and Carters June wedding at The Pritzlaff in downtown Milwaukee. Their vision paired elegance with the venue’s industrial charm, incorporating delicate lace, dramatic florals, and candlelit tables. While a few rain showers made an appearance, they also brought some of the day’s most memorable moments.

The Beginning & The Proposal

Some love stories start with a chance encounter. Megan and Carter’s started in the hallways of high school. The two met as freshmen but didn’t begin dating until their junior year. Their relationship continued through college, with Megan attending Wisconsin Lutheran College and Carter heading to UW-Oshkosh.

In February 2025, just before their seventh anniversary, Carter planned a dinner date that ended with a surprise back at Megan’s apartment. Waiting for her were flowers, wine, and a card asking, “Will you be my forever Valentine?”

After Carter got down on one knee, both sets of parents arrived afterward to celebrate the engagement with champagne.

The Planning Process

Megan and Carter’s wedding vision was all about romance with a fresh, elegant feel. Megan chose a soft palette of pale pistachio green and white, incorporating lush florals, delicate lace, and plenty of candlelight. The goal was to complement The Pritzlaff’s historic Cream City brick and industrial architecture while bringing a softer, more romantic atmosphere to the space.

Florals and linens were two areas where the couple decided to splurge, and the extra details made a big impact. Mayflowers helped bring their vision to life with arrangements of white roses, hydrangeas, and greenery, including a dramatic cascading floral installation at the bar. A mix of floral-patterned linens, lace runners, and natural wood tables added texture and variety throughout the reception.

With so many moving pieces, having the right coordinator was especially important. Aubrey of Vow and Order helped bring everything together, managing the details and keeping the day running smoothly. Megan and Carter couldn’t have been happier with her support, especially knowing they could relax, enjoy their guests, and take in every moment of their celebration.

Wedding Day Looks

Megan knew she’d found her wedding dress when she simply didn’t want to take it off. After trying on around 30 gowns, she selected an Essense of Australia design from Eva’s Bridal in Oak Creek.

The gown featured romantic lace sleeves and delicate detailing throughout. A long lace-trimmed veil completed her look, with hair and makeup by Rouje Bridal.

Her bridesmaids wore pale pistachio green dresses in a mix of silhouettes. The soft shade complemented their white floral bouquets and brought a fresh, understated color to the wedding party.

Carter kept things classic in a black tuxedo with a white bow tie and white rose boutonniere, with menswear from Men’s Wearhouse.

Wedding Ceremony

An outdoor ceremony was high on Megan and Carter’s wish list when choosing their wedding venue. They loved The Pritzlaff’s combination of historic brick, impressive ceilings, and courtyard space. Although rain moved their ceremony beneath the covered portion of The Pritzlaff Courtyard, the setting still delivered the intimate, romantic atmosphere they had envisioned.

Mayflowers created six statement arrangements filled with white roses, ranunculus, hydrangeas, and greenery. Four floral pillars framed the ceremony space, with two additional arrangements welcoming guests at the beginning of the aisle.

Megan walked down the aisle to Canon in D, performed by violinist Elias Silva, before joining Carter infront of all their loved ones.

One of Megan’s favorite memories was looking around and seeing so many people gathered to celebrate their marriage. Hearing their guests sing Speak, O’ Lord, one of the couple’s favorite hymns, made the moment even more meaningful.

Capturing the Day

Despite the rainy forecast, Megan and Carter made the most of every opportunity for photos around downtown Milwaukee. Their first look took place along the Milwaukee Riverwalk outside the Residence Inn, where they had spent the morning getting ready separately. Finally seeing one another was one of the moments they had been looking forward to most.

They also exchanged private vows between rain showers, creating a quiet moment together before the ceremony.

For their wedding photography, the couple chose TJ and Shannon of Uttke Photography. From their first meeting, they appreciated TJ’s honest, down-to-earth personality and enthusiasm for their plans.

When the rain returned, the wedding party headed to Milwaukee’s Federal Building for portraits. Its striking architecture provided a classic backdrop for the wedding party. Later, after dinner and speeches, Megan and Carter made their way to The Pritzlaff rooftop. Just in time, the sun peeked through the clouds, giving them beautiful evening light and views of the Milwaukee skyline.

Sanda Sentimental Media also captured wedding-day content, preserving even more of the moments throughout their celebration.

The Reception

Inside The Pritzlaff 333, Megan and Carter’s reception design brought an elegant contrast to the venue’s exposed brick walls, tall wooden columns, and industrial architecture.

The space was filled with soft candlelight, white florals, and subtle touches of green. Tables featured a mix of white and green floral-patterned linens from Windy City Linen, while exposed wooden tables were finished with delicate lace runners.

A combination of elevated floral centerpieces and smaller bud vase arrangements, added dimension throughout the room. Tall gold stands displayed lush white blooms and greenery, while glass hurricanes, taper candles, and votives provided a warm glow.

One detail in particular stood out: a dramatic cascading hydrangea installation that spilled from the wooden bar onto the floor. Filled with white blooms and hints of green, it became one of the reception’s most eye-catching features. Overhead, sparkling chandeliers and strands of bistro lights completed the setting.

Dinner was just as impressive as the beautiful reception setting, with Tuscan Hall Catering serving a delicious buffet of sirloin steak, Tuscan chicken, mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, and rainbow carrots. Guests also enjoyed two signature cocktails: the Bride’s Mule, a pomegranate Moscow mule, and the Groom’s Old Fashioned.

A tiered wedding cake from Simma’s Bakery was decorated with soft white and green florals, complementing the rest of the reception design.

Advice from the Bride and Groom

Looking back, Megan encourages engaged couples to appreciate the planning process just as much as the wedding itself.

“Truly enjoy this stage of life and all the excitement that comes with it!”

She also reminds couples not to let the endless to-do lists overshadow the experience.

“With so many details and things to plan, just remember to soak in all the moments and not stress too much!”

And if their wedding day proved anything, it’s that even when the weather doesn’t cooperate, some of the best memories can come from the moments you never planned.
